"The Secured Environments initiative is entirely in accord with the core AUSCO aims and objectives of improving professionalism and standards in University Security. The process requires the formalising and analysis of risks and identifying of appropriate security objectives so that proportionate responses can be developed. A major aspect is that it requires 'buy-in' not just from Security staff but also from the Senior Management and other members of the University community. The effectiveness of the outcomes is subsequently evaluated carefully so that sustained, realistic improvements can be achieved. The process is one which I would wholeheartedly endorse."
