"Bournemouth University are delighted to have been awarded the Secured Environments Accreditation for the fourth time. Being a part of the Secured Environments scheme has greatly assisted the University in independently evidencing our commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for all students, staff, affiliates and visitors.
The Secured Environments auditing process is extremely professionally managed. An auditor checks that appropriate policies and procedures are in place, but more importantly, holds focus groups to ensure that staff who work within the security teams as well as groups of stakeholders from across the University are able to provide their view on how well security is managed.
As BU also works closely with Dorset Police in ensuring all new builds are designed and constructed in line with Secured by Design, this complements the Secured Environments award, meaning that we are able to demonstrate our commitment to safety and security across the design, construction and operation of the campus environment."
